The One-Hour Workshops are designed to provide practical advice and support in quick, easy and flexible sessions. All workshops are offered in person at the North East Fireflies Clinic and Training Space as well as online on Teams.
All sessions are only £27.50 each with a certificate and resource pack provided. Sessions are delivered by an experienced Speech and Language Therapist.

Introducing Symbols as AAC- Keeping Communication Fun and Functional.
This workshop will provide you with information about using symbols as a form of AAC and practical, eviidence-based advice and strategies for modelling langauge using symbols at home.
Work with the therapist to identify different levels of symbol use and work out what is right for your child at this time to support them.

Supporting Language Development in a Busy Home.
This workshop provides the theory behind typical child language development and learning and uses evidence based strategies to make your house a positive language learning environment. It will help you to turn your everyday routines and playtime into 'language learning time' through easy to use strategies that are relevant to you.
Phonological Awareness - Supporting Speech at Home
Phonological awareness is the ability to hear the difference between different sounds in words. Difficulties in phonological awareness can present as a Phonological Speech Sound Disorder or a delay in using speech sounds.
This workshop will provide you with evidence based facts and practical advice for supporting a child with their sound awareness skills.
